Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art

Pack up your paints and meet at various locations in the central Great Falls area, for four consecutive Saturdays. 3-hour outdoor sessions will work to capture the effects of light on the landscape, with instruction and suggestions as a guide while you paint some of our favorite places. 

 

Meet with other artists on the grounds of Paris Gibson Square week 1, to begin with painting scenes in the area. Remaining class sessions will meet outside the Square, and at other locations within the historic district of Great Falls. 

* Rained-out sessions will be replaced on ensuing Saturdays.   

Week 1: Gardens of Paris Gibson Square 

Week 2: Gibson Park 

Week 3: Riverside Park 

Week 4: TBD by class (other location in historic Great Falls district) 

 

When: Saturdays, June 8th-29th   

Time: 9am-12pm  

Cost: $110 

Class size: Minimum 3 students, Maximum 10 

 
Recommended materials (supplies included unless prefer to bring own): 

Graphite Pencil and Eraser 

Acrylic or watercolor paints (minimum red, yellow, blue and white) 

Portable easel, light weight  

Rags or paper towels for clean-up 

Backing board with clips   

Brushes: One flat brush, 1/2 in. or wider and one pointed brush 

Paper or canvas (canvas paper), 9 x 12 in. 

Water container and bottle of water   

Palette and Palette knife 

*no toxic solvents please 

*The Square can provide a kit for each week if preferred.
