Veterans Art: Lino Printing Cards
This four-session project immerses students in the expressive process of creating handmade cards through the art of linocut printmaking. Students will explore the tactile and visual aspects of the medium, learning how to conceptualize, refine, and transform their artistic ideas into tangible prints. The journey begins with sketching and refining original designs, then moves into the hands-on techniques of transferring, carving, inking, and printing. Each participant will produce at least one 3x5 inch print, ideal for use as a greeting card, and—if time allows—can experiment further by creating a smaller, optional print using the same or a new design. Throughout the project, emphasis is placed on the step-by-step process, creative decision-making, and the satisfaction of pulling a crisp, finished print from the block.
This is a FREE art program for veterans ONLY. No experience necessary!
Dates: Wednesdays, November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Location: Room 18
